What content works in domaining?

I’ve looked back through my analytics and content about domains over the last 12 months for 3ac.co.uk in an attempt to see what content works in domaining to generate a  regular and returning audience. More importantly to improve visibility and ultimately sales. What I have found is that the content needs to be relevant, up to date and engaging. In short will your audience enjoy it and will they BENEFIT from it.

One of the more successful series of posts which I tried out last year were my Top Ten Domain Name Sales posts. These were well researched and up to date with the latest domain name sales across various niches and engaging to my target audience.

Another type of blog post which is good for generating buzz is the “controversial” post. Pick a topic which only has a agree or disagree audience and pick which side you fall into. Pay no attention to any challenges and be obnoxious. Check out my post about dot eco domains.

And finally share your knowledge. Everyone benefits when you share your knowledge, so don’t keep it all to yourself. If you know of something that you think others could benefit from write a post about it. I did a post on Directory Submissions. Its not everything I know, and I don’t give way my secrets or gems of wisdom but it is sharing a bit of knowledge which some people will find useful…and have found useful.

So why am I going on about these points? Well they will form the basic principles of the new and improved 3ac.co.uk when it launches:

  • Relevant (stick to the point)
  • Controversial (but only at appropriate times :-) ) this should really be “Thought Provoking”
  • Selfless (Sharing is caring)

Altogether these form a nice little formula for creating an engaging audience. Fingers crossed I can implement these values into the new site in the way I intend.
