Tweeking Meta is Better

I’ve been plugging away at getting to he top spot in the UK for “mobile domains” on Google as I think this is the way I want to take this blog. Having lots of related content and inbound links is great but it wasn’t getting me to the top, I was stuck at the lower end of the first page. Changes had to be made…Here’s how tweeking Meta is better for your site/blog.

First of all if you don’t tell Google you want to rank for a certain term, how are they gonna know? They index billions of pages every page and if you don’t stand out from the crowd and shout, “Here I am, rank me number 1!” then there is no way you will ever get to the top spot. For me this is a stepping stone to get ont0 harder key phrases like mobile development and mobile seo. All in good time. So what have I changed.

Well a few things really; blog title, meta desriptions, meta keywords, H tags and on page description/ content on the home page. This collection of on-page and off-page changes has made the difference. I made the changes yesterday afternoon when I was in 7th position and re-submitted my blog to Google to wake up this morning and find I am now number one for “mobile domains” on UK search and 6th on full web search.

In the great kindness of heart I have had a look around to find a good guide to optimising your meta to improve rankings and here’s the one I think makes it all nice and easy to understand and to implement into your own seo strategy.
