Too many domains

Can you really have too many domains? At which point does the table of viability turn? I have found myself asking this question as I attempt to maintain the fine balance of developing and registering new domains. I often find myself saying, right Gary, you have 10 domains you want to develop. Get them up and running before you buy any more…then the next night I register another gaggle of .co.uk’s…So it has become a vicious circle where I find domains I registered years ago collecting dust in my collection when they should be developed over the new ones I am buying.

Even as I speak I am bidding in two auctions for keyword .co.uk’s and doing some research on some potential hand reg’s. My aim is to get to 450, 1-3 keyword .co.uk’s which all have a minimum of 2,400 exact local monthly searches in the UK. From here I anticipate another 6 months before I get the collection finished and 2-3 years before they are all fully developed. Like I said in my last post these are my retirement domains and looking at this as a marathon not a sprint…a long term strategy not a short range turkey shoot. My aim…£20 per month each.

My issue…trying not to buy too many domains.

Stick to your guns.
