So it’s Sunday afternoon and I have just got back home from a fabulous weekend at Think Visibility 5. It was another extremely successful event and it never ceases to amaze me how well Dom and his team cope with all the organisation that must be required to put on an event like this and have it run so smoothly. An eleven strong line-up of speakers graced the two stages and a number of highlights made the weekend a true online marketing treat!
My Domain Name Presentation
I have just had a look online and found Steven Lilley’s (@sk8geek) awesome photos of the event on Flickr.
My personal takeaways from the event were as follows:
Paddy Moogan’s talk – Using 10 ten lists as link bait, and actually contacting the companies you list on there for links! Doh, I knew I was going wrong somewhere!
Paul Madden’s talk – I never knew you could outsource so much and oDesk looks like a good place to start
Dave Naylor’s talk – Always a worthwhile listen, as some gems about leaking link juice and wasting internal links etc.
Some learns from non-speakers
I had a brilliant chat with poker shark Kev Strong (@goosh) about Twitter profiles and a quick overview of using ECU (EasyContentUnits.com) with him and Jason Brockman which was great. I spent some good time discussing domain names, dating and various other topics which were completely unrelated to online marketing yet highly amusing with Mark Hall from EnglandAgency.co.uk and Johnny Ratcliffe at topsearch.co.uk. I also caught up with Edd Dawson (@channel5) from UnderCoverOctopus.com and two of his friends Chris & Will which was great. I had a really good chat with them about iPhone apps and marketing them, blindfolds and a whole manner of various topics, including twins and dogs – Never a dull moment and always something different!
As I sit here I begin to realise that I spoke to so many awesome people at the event, another included Richard Kershaw from QualityNonsense.com who I discussed domain names and our shared hate of the film 2012 over a tasty curry in the casino.

If you would like the slides from my presentation, please either contact me or check out the live blogging notes from Kieron Hughes at Pushon. Remember I am always happy to chat, so if we didn’t get a chance to catch up at the event, feel free to drop me a line.
As always, thanks again to Dom and his Team at Think Visibility. I’m already looking forward to September!
Best

Hey Gary,
Great to catch up too, tell Sophie sorry we had to literally run past her waving on the way out of the hotel, but we were on a mad mission to get Scott’s passport he’d left in his hotel safe and get it to him at Manchester airport before his flight took off!
Lol, no problems mate great to catch up with you too and with Chris and Will. We have to meet up for a lunch again soon, my shout this time. Best GT
