The results are in…
Well what a week, expected.net finally sold for the $200 originally offered but did it prove my “…food for thought.” hypothesis correct?
So let’s recap… I wanted to demonstrate the following statement to be true,
“The SEO seminar at the CapEuro event was so thought-provoking for the casino affiliates who attended that many of them will try to buy up some keyword-heavy and brandable domain names to help with their online marketing.
By placing an advert on a domain auction site for a collection of gaming and non-gaming related domain names, I believe that the gaming related domains will receive the most offers between them over the next seven days.
So, I placed the advert on Sedo.co.uk for the following domains:
expected.net, mothersdaycards.co.uk, whitelabelpoker.com, blognow.co.uk, forked.co.uk, superstargaming.com, mycomparison.co.uk, onlinebingoclub.net, 360poker.net, offline.biz
A nice mix of gaming and non-gaming domains I hope you will agree.
And the results are in…drum roll please…
The GAMING DOMAINS WIN with 742 views to offer!
Top domain: 360poker.net – 487 views to offer and SOLD
Here’s how the others faired,
expected.net - 309, forked.co.uk – 117, offline.biz – 102, whitelabelpoker.com – 89, onlinebingoclub.net – 86, superstargaming.com – 80, mycomparison.co.uk – 41, mothersdaycards.co.uk – 6, and finally blognow.co.uk with ZERO views to offer.
In summary, the results of last week’s domain auction has proved my hypothesis correct and demonstrates that current events could possibly have a positive effect on domain sales, adding to the arguement that to have a strong domain strategy you must follow industry trends closely and analyse the market on a regular basis.
Do you agree? Have your say now!
