Keyword .org.uk Domains Test
This weekend I decided to run a test and see where it goes. The test was to build a really basic site, literally no frills, which is dedicated to advertising keyword .org.uk domain names. I conveniently have the domain name KeywordDomains.org.uk which couldn’t be more appropriate. So 1hr and a bit of dream-weaving later the site was up and running.
3dReadyTV.co.uk page layout uploaded
A QUICK UPDATE: I have just spent the last couple of hours preparing the basics of the page layout for 3dReadyTV.co.uk. I have come to the conclusion that I need to have a handful of “featured TVs” and the use the rest of the site to bulk up the content. I have made the template relatively simple for the moment until I research the affiliate programs for the TVs themselves.
Once I have the affiliate links sorted out I can then finish loading the rest of the graphics and content before starting a link building campaign, which will include some directory submissions, articles and blog posts. › Continue reading
3D Ready TV Domain Test
True Story: In December of 2008 I was lying in a hospital bed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. I had been there for almost two months after suffering from acute liver failure (not alcohol related I might add.) Now there’s not much you can do in a hospital 3 days before Christmas, but read and go on the internet, of which I was doing a lot…
However, 5 days previous to this I had been reading a press release in The Guardian announcing Sky’s plans to launch 3D Ready TV. Doing a little more reading I shortly found Sky’s original press release announcing their plans to launch their 3D TV package at some point in 2010. › Continue reading
Will Google Instant Affect Keyword Domains?
With the new release of Google Instant Search one has to ask the question, will it affect keyword domains? There is little doubt that Google has a fetish for speed, but is Google Instant too fast for it’s own good? How relevant are it’s results and can the world’s largest information database really predict to any level of accuracy what we are really searching for?
Keyword domains are the back bone of many an online marketing strategy. Some will argue that building a brand is bigger than owning a keyword domain, but with massive UK companies like B&Q (DIY.com), First Choice (holidays.co.uk) and the Times Online (news.co.uk) to name a tiny few, having invested in keyword domains to boost their brand and considering “more than one in six searches are performed by internet users directly typing a domain into their browser, something which accounts for more than 10% of Google’s search revenues.” SOURCE: Marketing Week … it is hard to believe that keyword domains will be affected. › Continue reading
