Researching keyword domains, the correct way
Having not written a post about keyword domains for a while, and since I will be doing a presentation in a couple of weeks at Think Visibility in Leeds on the subject, I have been doing some reading and sharpening my knowledge ready for the event. Here are some thoughts of mine about researching keyword domains, the correct way.
Choosing a keyword domain to register or purchase on the aftermarket is about finding an opportunity in the market and the right asset that will help to maximise your return on investment. Do you just want a slice of the pie or the whole cake? You make the choice. › Continue reading
Vouchers.mobi domain
I bought the Vouchers.mobi domain name a couple of months ago now and this weekend have done a little bit of work to it. I’m an advocate of .mobi domains and I feel that mobile search is only going to get a bigger part of our lives. I find that keeping things simple on the mobile web is the best course of action. I haven’t rushed into anything either as the voucher codes market is so competitive I wanted to be sure that my approach was correct. › Continue reading
Domains for sale
This weekend I am having a sort out of some of the domains I have which really need to be passed on to someone who can give them the real attention they require. I have selected 23 domains which I would like to put up for sale and will consider offers on them, despite me giving them fixed prices. Of course I don’t want stupid offers, so please don’t waste my time.
The collection is mostly made up of .co.uk keyword domains, do the research on them yourself, 2 groups of related .co.uks and a handful of non .co.uks. Have a look through them below and if you are interested please feel free to drop me a line and we can arrange sale and transfer. › Continue reading
Two domains I’m not sure what to do with
I have two domains which I really am not sure what to do with. The first is whitelabelpoker.com, the second is birminghamnewstreet.com. Both hand registered and have a basic landing page, which I do with all domains I think will be worthwhile developing down the line. I was particularly pleased with hand registering Birmingham New Street as it benefits from 6,600 exact local searches per month and my initial plan is to get it ranking 1st place for its exact name and then do a mail shot to a load of businesses on Birmingham New Street (the most central parade in Birmingham City Centre) in an attempt to sell advertising space on the site. › Continue reading
Fly Fishing Books Domain Development Part 4
Since my last Fly Fishing Books post the other week , I have progressed nicely down the domain development road and finished with a great looking mini-site. I have added a full banner across the top of the page, finished off the CSS, which I have actually down on the same file, rather than separate it and changed the layout of the Google Adsense in an attempt to maximise CTR (Click Through Rate.)
After finishing the site I submitted it to Google and also built a few links from various other sites (directories and forums.) A few days has passed by since then and the site appeared today on its first index on the front page of Google for “fly fishing books.” › Continue reading
