Stumbleupon your domains

On Saturday I started using Stumbleupon.com to share my domains posts and it has had great results. Although I’ve heard of Stumbleupon and known about it for years I’ve never really used it to it’s full potential and following a few hours checking the site out in more detail and figuring out exactly how it could work for me I have managed to generate an extra 79 unique visitors to 3ac.co.uk which isn’t a huge amount but more importantly, 9 domain name registrations! Effectively clicking the stumbleupon button 3 times in 3 days has earned me an extra 9 x £2.50 = £22.50 …not too shabby…
So what have I been doing on stumbleupon.com that has been generating pretty decent, converting traffic?
Well really it was all about choosing the right topics to add to your posts and making sure that what you are writing about is something that would appeal to not just your normal visitors but to brand new customers. What would interest them?
My last three posts have been quite personal, topical and I would like to think intriguing. I have written about the top ten domain name sales of the last week. I have written about the infamous sex.com domain name and also about my quest to get 3ac.co.uk to the first page of Google for the term “domains.”
All of these posts, I believe would not only interest people who were in the domains industry but also to people outside the industry too. I have kept the posts brief and to the point and as always I write in a very personal manner, basically typing it out the way I would say it. As many of your know too I don’t sugar coat things, why not check out my post about .eco domains. (You’ll see what I mean!)
So in short, using stumbleupon.com is a great way of getting your content noticed and to generate more targeted traffic to your site. Using the share buttons in WordPress or this Sharethis.com or Addthis.com you can get your posts straight onto stumbleupon in seconds. Genius!
Get Stumbling!
