Online marketing, content and affiliate links
This may be common sense to many of you, however I see so many people doing it all wrong when it comes to the online marketing of their content and utilising affiliate links. You know when you land on someones website only to find it is plastered with inappropriate affiliate links or banners which have no relevance to what you were actually searching for? Well if you’re reading this and happen to fall into this category then read on.
I have started writing content again for my secured loans website, searchandapply.co.uk. I may have told you about it before. It currently receives several thousand page views per day, so I’m quite happy with it for the moment, ranking first page on Google UK for terms like “fast secured loan” “self certification loans” and more. I have never, and I mean never until this month put affiliate banners on the site, but didn’t want to get carried away with being the typical marketeer and having banners on the home page so have decided to only have banners on the news articles I write only. This way if people like the site and choose to read the content, they will be served with an advert for a finance product… but I am being very strict with myself to only serve up banners which relate directly to the article I have written. Here is an example of one of my loan news updates.
On the same note I have made the article very easy to understand, brief and to the point whilt also offering external links to other valuable and informative sites whilst including a call to action to urge people to enquire via my site. Note the text links with alt text, linking back to my home page enquiry form for “secured loans.” All for the greater good.
This page I have then rolled out to several cool sites including my old favourite Mixx.com and of course have created a new Twitter profile for SAA too. All moving towards the goal of more inbound links and PR building.
Anyway, only a brief post this evening, I have been so busy with my other sites I ahve found it hard to keep up to date with 3ac recently, however I would be keen to get your thoughts on how I can take my ideas that bit further. If you have a finance site similar to mine, please feel free to get in touch and share your thoughts!
