Mobile Link Building Part 3

Progress has been made after some late night emails and brainstorming all day. We have decided as part of our mobile link building project we should develop a dedicated mobile directory which is as SEO friendly in the mobile SERPs as possible. Today there are many mobile directories around which have very unfriendly URLs when you drill down to more specific categories within the directory. The don’t make use of tags and other things like this which make navigation easier and results more relevant.  As the directory grows we will find our selves with a large network of sites all taking advantage of the mobile link building which we will be undertaking. This reiterates my comment in the Mobile Link Building Part 2 post about being part of the bigger picture.

Again I need to be careful that I am not giving too much away just yet, however I will reveal that we plan to use the mobile domain ThumbsUp.mobi to host the mobile web directory. Although this will be confirmed.

As part of my research I have be studying a whole load of mobile web directories and last night I was given a link by a cool guy on Twitter to his list of .mobi directories. Check them out here. Very useful.

We have decided that we will keep listing free on the directory as long as people link back to us. All site submissions will be manually reviewed to make sure that only quality sites are listed. Very DMOZ orientated and old-school, but I like that sometimes.

Any will update you once we have progress to the next step and should hopefully have some screen shots for your shortly.

Cheers

Gary
