Mobile domains for marketing your business

Best Pizza in BirminghamI am currently building a mobile website for The Plough pub in Harborne, Birmingham as a bit of a favour for the owner. The Plough is my local pub and I have played gigs there too. Always a great place to eat and drink and generally be merry with your pals. They have been running a 2-4-1 pizza day every Monday for some time now which is proving to be very successful. With this in mind I was speaking to the owner and explained how having a mobile site developed to market the 2-4-1 pizza deal would be a great way to capture more footfall and ultimately more sales for the pub.  The idea is to create a simple mobile site which has a different special offer voucher on it each week. To be able to get regular updates and enter in a free £30 bar tab people are encouraged to enter their mobile number and email which we can then re-market too.

I have chosen to host the mobile website on a  separate domain to The Plough’s main website and after some keyword research decided to go which one of the most apt and keyword rich domains possible…say hello to Pizza Birmingham!

I have been careful how I developed the domain and decided to keep in line with allowing the maximum number of mobile devices to be able to view the site, rather than going for an all singing all dancing Iphone/Balckberry/Smartphone only type mobile site.

The idea of this is SEO, get it ranking and get it capturing the 4,400 searches for pizza in Birmingham per month.

I will keep you updated with how the 2-4-1 pizza deals are coming along over the next few weeks, but for moment I am just putting the finishing touches to it.

Note that on its first submission the site is already ranking well for:

    “Pizza Birmingham”
    “Best Pizza Birmingham”

The strength of keyword domains in a niche target market.
