Link building using RSS feed submissions

I have spent the last few weeks researching and collating over 200 RSS feed sites/directories which I can submit 3ac to to gain exposure and inbound links. I have now finished creating my spreadsheet of the sites I have collated and am working my way through them all manually to submit 3ac’s RSS feed to them. I am on number 20 of 212…so quite a long way to go. However the sites I have chosen are well visited and relatively well regarded as some of the top sites to have your RSS feeds listed on. Some are free sites, some require a reciprocal link, some require to be paid for a listing and others are human edited only listing the sites they feel are worthy enough to be mentioned on their site.

My aim is to build a new collection of inbound links focused on “Mobile Web Development,” so to ensure that the RSS feed is optimised for this accordingly I have built in a hard link back to 3ac entitled “Mobile Web Development” and the used the words “mobile” and “web development” in the title. My aim was to change the goal of 3ac to become a mobile web development blog with focus around mobile seo and .mobi domains, see my post http://www.3ac.co.uk/mobile-web-development.

I believe that this whole exercise will take me about 8-10 hours of time to finish off all the submissions but once it is fully done, every time I write a new post I am effectively replicating it across 200+ sites with a link back to 3ac. If over the next 12 months 10 people from each site subscribe to my feedĀ  via any of those 200 sites then I can assume I will be gaining upto 2000 new subscribers. So time spent now getting it right will be a worthwhile investment for my exposure.

I have created a basic spreadsheet on excel to monitor the performance, because I have never really explored the potential of RSS feeds, so it will be interesting to see what effects it has on my visitors, inbound links and subscribers.

Once I’m done and reviewed all the different feed sites for performance I may then release a pdf document detailing my findings and which sites have been the best and worst to submit too and charge a token $5 for people who want the info without having to the the leg work of researching it all themselves first. Great idea huh?

    Thanks Gareth

Appreciate the comment, I’m still testing all the RSS sumbission sites and detailing how they work, which ones are effectand which ones are rubbish. I have tried some paid links and got featured listings on some of them to see how much traffic they refer so should be a good pdf doc when I’m done. Just takes time to get it all down on paper!

Keep checking back from time to time or follow me on Twitter for when I release it

    Best
