Happy Valentines Day

Will you be my valentine dot com? Some completely useless but quirky facts about valentines day related domains

Valentines dotcom was first registered on the 10/09/1995 and according to Alexa – the web information company – its global traffic rank has jumped up from an average of 780,000 to 193,000 over the last week, peaking at 91,000 yesterday

Valentinesday(dot)com is only a parked domain, and has yet to be developed and on the same note so are the valentinesdaygifts and valentinesdaycards versions too.

The search term “valentines day” only returns one domain on the first page of Google containing the word “valentines” and it is not the number one spot. However out of the 2.1m blogs on Google blog search the top spot for valentines is mydearvalentine.com

Its funny that some of the most generic of the valentines domains have not been developed. What a great asset to have each year at this time, a fully operational website purely for valentines related stuff. You could have cards, flowers, chocolate jewellery any kind of gifts, you could use affiliate programs to monetise it… anything that is more exciting than just a parked page.

But then who am I to talk?… I have mothersdaycards.co.uk just sat doing nothing…maybe I should practice what I preach??
