Fly Fishing Books Part 3
And so here we are, part 3 of my Fly Fishing Books domain development series of posts. This week I have spent 2 hours getting to the next stage of the build, which means I have spent 2.5hrs altogether on the site. You can now see that the basic content and monetisation tools are in place, a banner has been added and the domain is now starting to resemble an online book store of some sort.
So what have I been doing?
Firstly I created a basic logo/banner for the site using Adobe Photoshop. Nothing spectacular just something that captures what the site is all about.
Secondly I wrote some content about fly fishing in general, simply by having a quick read of other related sites and then writing a few paragraphs in my own words.
Thirdly I signed the site up to Google Content Adsense and the Amazon aStore program. These two platforms, in particular the Amazon aStore are the two ways in which I will monetise the site. Fly fishing is a very niche pasttime and as such the people searching for fly fishing books will be highly targetted and should convert well. By using a trusted provider like Amazon to provide the products, in this case fly fishing books, visitors will feel safer when using the site and can rely on the excellent reputation of Amazon to delivery the goods accordingly.
How do you sign up for Adsense and aStore?
- Google Adsense – Simply visit https://www.google.com/adsense to create your account in minutes
- Amazon aStore – Simply go to http://astore.amazon.com/ scroll to the bottom of the page to register. The store builder creates your store in minutes and gives you the iframe code to use on your website. You can opt to be paid by cheque or by direct bank transfer.
Easy!
You may notice I have not added any CSS to the site yet nor any other form of graphics. These will be done in the next edition along with link building to gain a first page listing on Google so that the site can generate traffic and more importantly INCOME!
Remember the idea of this is ROI which means building it quickly and cheaply, the sooner the site starts earning money the sooner your start making profit with your domains.
