Domain name registration issue on 1&1?

I’ve noticed something really strange over the last few months on 1&1.co.uks domain name registration tool. Has anyone else seen it?

The problem has happened a few time when I have tried to register .co.uk domain names and the .info versions have been returned as available. However, when you actually click to register them and proceed to check out it then says that the domain name is taken?

I don’t know if anyone else has seen it but it got my heart racing the other day when soccer.info was showing as available. I frantically tried to register it only to be told several times that it wasn’t…boo!

Just wanted to bring it to 1&1s attention and see if it is just me being a complete spaz or whether the same issue is being experience by others, but whatever it got me excited about my domain strategy, when I though I might be able to get my hands on premium domain like soccer.info for just a few quid.

Maybe they is just a technical blip when connecting to the whois database..who knows?
