My First G0 On DomainLore – g0.org.uk Domain Name For Sale
A couple of days ago I decided that I had gone long enough without trying to sell one of my domain names on DomainLore.co.uk. I have bought a domain name through their site before – a one-word .co.uk, geo-domain, which I no longer own, but after some time of being a member and pretty much checking the site out every other day to see what hot domain names are going up for sale it was time for me to get involved.
Check out this picture I found too when typing in “GO” on Google images from [Source - rtvchannel.tv] – Very amusing, my name, looks a bit like me and has the characters G0 on it too. Perfect for this post! › Continue reading
Sedo: What Qualifies A Domain Name As Premium?
When Sedo announced that they were holding a premium .co domain name auction I had a brief look through the list and thought I would test the water for the first time with selling on a couple of .co domain names that I registered as part of the sunrise process. When I got an email this evening to say that my two domain names, DogBed.co and CornerSofa.co had been declined due to “quality” reasons I thought I would write this post. › Continue reading
Selling domains the right way
It’s a pretty basic concept but one which many simply forget to consider when selling domains. For want of a better way of putting it, if you have a BMW on your drive and want to sell it, you don’t keep in the garage gathering dust…you take it to the valet, get it cleaned, maybe decide to put it on the drive during the summer months to attract the right buyer. You certainly wouldn’t put it on the forecourt of a Fiat garage as they may not be able to afford your car…and so on.
Why then, do so many feel that they can just get away with listing a parked domain in a one size fits all environment with not care for actually attracting the type of buyer they want? Here’s an example I have seen recently on how to go about selling domains the right way… › Continue reading
Buying domains direct, the death of auction sites?
Having made quite a few domain name purchases over the last few months I have become less and less interested in what’s on offer at the large auction sites and have focused more and more on either using independent sites such as domainlore.co.uk and acorndomains.co.uk or simply contacting domain name owners directly via email or social networks such as Twitter. So with the industry becoming ever smaller by the day in terms of how domain name owners can communicate with each other could buying domains direct be the death of auction sites? › Continue reading
Domain name valuations: A disparity
I am sure every domainer has asked themselves the same question over and over, how much are my domains really worth? It’s a question which, unfortunately, has an ever changing answer. Further more the deeper you dig into the labyrinth of a domain’s intrinsic value, the further you get away from a constant figure. › Continue reading
