Blackjack.it sells for $37k

Last week saw the strengths of the generic country code TLDs shine through again with Blackjack.it (.it being the Italian country code) selling for $37k through top auction site Sedo.

As you can probably tell I have a keen interest with domain strategy in the online gaming industry and its development potential, or else I wouldn’t be exploring it with my own domain developments!

However, pushing the gaming industry aside, it’s sales like this which demonstrate that although times are tough, people are still seeing the value in generic domains; check out the year to date domain name sales in 2009 through DNjournal a great site which I regularly visit. I think it would be worthwhile keeping an eye on this one and seeing whether it gets developed and its true potential realised.
