Bored of crappy chat about domains

Uhhh, mehhh, booo, blah blah blah, snore….Every time I get an email now from various domain industry news aggregation sites, (no names mentioned of course) with “headlines” from other industry bloggers it is just filled with crappy chat about domains. If it’s not some chump giving his views on ICANN or some other domain industry body/organisation its another schmuck blurbing on about SEO or link building who’s site features nowhere for what they are trying to achieve…idiots! Sort it out! › Continue reading

Vouchers.mobi domain

I bought the Vouchers.mobi domain name a couple of months ago now and this weekend have done a little bit of work to it. I’m an advocate of .mobi domains and I feel that mobile search is only going to get a bigger part of our lives. I find that keeping things simple on the mobile web is the best course of action. I haven’t rushed into anything either as the voucher codes market is so competitive I wanted to be sure that my approach was correct. › Continue reading

Domains for sale

domains for saleThis weekend I am having a sort out of some of the domains I have which really need to be passed on to someone who can give them the real attention they require. I have selected 23 domains which I would like to put up for sale and will consider offers on them, despite me giving them fixed prices. Of course I don’t want stupid offers, so please don’t waste my time.

The collection is mostly made up of .co.uk keyword domains, do the research on them yourself, 2 groups of related .co.uks and a handful of non .co.uks. Have a look through them below and if you are interested please feel free to drop me a line and we can arrange sale and transfer. › Continue reading

Two domains I’m not sure what to do with

I have two domains which I really am not sure what to do with. The first is whitelabelpoker.com, the second is birminghamnewstreet.com. Both hand registered and have a basic landing page, which I do with all domains I think will be worthwhile developing down the line. I was particularly pleased with hand registering Birmingham New Street as it benefits from 6,600 exact local searches per month and my initial plan is to get it ranking 1st place for its exact name and then do a mail shot to a load of businesses on Birmingham New Street (the most central parade in Birmingham City Centre) in an attempt to sell advertising space on the site. › Continue reading

Too many domains

Can you really have too many domains? At which point does the table of viability turn? I have found myself asking this question as I attempt to maintain the fine balance of developing and registering new domains. I often find myself saying, right Gary, you have 10 domains you want to develop. Get them up and running before you buy any more…then the next night I register another gaggle of .co.uk’s…So it has become a vicious circle where I find domains I registered years ago collecting dust in my collection when they should be developed over the new ones I am buying. › Continue reading
